Shoemaker, Jason, D.O.

Dr. Jason Shoemaker is General Surgeon Practicing in all aspects of general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, Robotic assisted Laparoscopic Surgery as well as upper and lower  endoscopy. Dr. Shoemaker is board certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Surgery. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with Bachelor of Science degree from Western Carolina University, Dr. Shoemaker received his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tennessee. He completed general surgery residency through the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine at Doctor’s Hospital and Grant Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident.

Dr. Shoemaker joined Columbus Surgical Associates in August of 2017. He currently practices at Dublin Surgery Center, Dublin Methodist Hospital, Doctors Hospital and Riverside Methodist Hospital. Dr. Shoemaker is also a staff surgeon for Select Specialty South Hospital in Columbus.  In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Shoemaker also serves as a member of the teaching faculty at Doctor’s Hospital for Surgical Resident training.

Dr. Shoemaker is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgery, and the American Osteopathic Association.  Dr. Shoemaker has received awards for anatomic dissection and anatomic teaching while a resident and chief resident.

Dr. Shoemaker’s practice is dedicated to treating a broad spectrum of general surgical conditions. He has special interests in surgery of the abdominal wall and complex hernia repair. He has performed numerous open and laparoscopic procedures for hernia repair, colon cancer, and gallbladder diseases. He also performs surgery for cancer related diagnosis of the GI Tract, colon and thyroid. Dr. Shoemaker also incorporates Robotic assisted surgery in select cases.  wHe is also trained in the performance of gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr. Shoemaker lives in the Columbus area with his wife and two children.
